The year I moved back to Austin, I was on a tight budget. My forehead lines were driving me nuts so for one year I gave myself professional microneedling treatments to see if it sized up to its claims. Between treatments, I would do a deep pore cleaning with microdermabrasion to help with my t-zone congestion and blackheads.
Example: Microdermabrasion – Microneedle – Microdermabrasion – Microneedle
The results were amazing! I honestly think it is a main contributor to my skin today. Starred below are the biggest results I noticed after completing my series of microneedling with microdermabrasion.
Benefits of Microneedling aka Collagen Induction Therapy
- *Tighter and firmer skin
- *Fine lines smoothed
- Softens scars
- Reduced brown spots (I don’t really have many)
- *Even skin tone
- *Reduction in dilated blood vessels
If you not ready to do Botox or don’t believe in it, then I recommend microneedling. It’s safe, effective and relatively painless. If you use home care of topical Vitamin A and C with zinc sunscreen, you will receive even better results.
I used my approach based on articles from two pioneers behind much of the microneedling research, Dr. Des Fernandes and Dr. Aust. They recommend for optimal results, a series of 6 treatments every 30 days with topical Vitamin A & C.
Dr. Des Fernandez research study results stated, “A single treatment improves fine lines, texture, large pore size, uneven skin tone and minor blemishes. Six treatments in six months help with moderate to deep wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks.â€
The picture below is an actual Miss Karen client who tried microneedling instead of Botox. She was very happy with the results.
